After a triumphant run in Bengaluru, the much-awaited Comic Con enthralled fans of popular culture in the nation’s capital on Friday, December 8. The three-day event featured a colourful lineup of comic book artists, cosplay contests, gaming, and a variety of pop culture memorabilia. It was held at the NSIC Exhibition Grounds in Okhla. Even the Japanese Ambassador could not stop himself from doing a Pikachu dance. Check out the highlights.

Delhi Comic Con 2023, the event that featured comics and some of India’s best performers, aimed to create a dynamic environment for creativity and a sense of camaraderie among fans immersed in imaginative universes.
It was one of the highly anticipated events where comic book aficionados came together to celebrate their common love of storytelling and creativity.
There was something for everyone with four unique arenas that serve a variety of interests: from the Maruti Suzuki Arena Fan Experience to Warner Bros. India’s Lost Kingdom, as well as the Crunchyroll, Aquaman, and Penguin Random House India experiential arenas, as well as an esports arena.

The Japanese Ambassador to India, Hiroshi Suzuki, also attended this event. He was seen dancing merrily with the Pikachus, which was in perfect sync.
Along with other thrilling activities for guests, the event included ‘The Arena,’. It was a 40,000-square-foot gaming arena with daily tournaments and unique gaming experiences.

The Cosplay Competition Was LIT

The cosplay competition, which took place every day at 6 pm. and gave passionate competitors a chance to display their creativity and craftsmanship by bringing renowned characters to life with complex costumes and attention to detail, was one of Comic Con Delhi’s highlights.
The variety of costumes, which ranged from fantasy monsters from faraway places to manga characters, showed how inventive these cosplays can be, in addition to reflecting the imagination of comic book fans. Cosplayers were artists in motion, not just enthusiasts dressed up in costumes.

Their unique quality was not only their skill; what really made them stand out was how authentically they brought their chosen roles to life. Every one of them had taken on the persona of the imaginary character they were portraying, frequently mimicking the character’s every move and facial expression.

Additionally, comic book creators and illustrators will have separate booths where fans can meet them, view their work, and have conversations about their well-known stories. Vibrant cover art and colourful spines decorated the comic book kiosks. You consider a comic book that was offered at the event.
From popular western superheroes like Batman and Superman to native heroes like Nagraj, Commando Dhruv, and Chacha Chaudhary!
In Bangalore in 2011, Muhammad Ali Vakil and four other people had the concept for Sufi Comics. Their comic books have been in high demand ever since. Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi’s poetry, which is filled with several Quranic narratives, is visually told through comics.

Famous comedians like Gaurav Kapoor, Rohan Joshi, and Akash Gupta performed stand-up, adding to the evening’s entertainment value. Other notable performers included rapper MC Altaf, desi hip-hopper Raga, ballet artist Hashtag, and many more.
