To mark the occasion of the 68th National wildlife week, Delhi Customs launched a new wildlife gallery called ‘Aranya’ on Friday. It launched the art gallery to celebrate Swachh Bharat, Indian wildlife heritage, and showcase India’s biodiversity.
The Delhi Customs Zone celebrated Swachh Bharat and India’s wildlife heritage by hosting the program ‘Aranya’ at the new Customs House in New Delhi. The program showcased India’s rich biodiversity through photographic galleries of mammalian and avian fauna. After this, the inauguration of ‘Aranya’ took place on the second floor of the new customs house in Delhi.
Many Officers Felicitated For Combating Illegal Wildlife Trade
Several officers working for the wildlife were felicitated by the chief guest Vivek Johri, special secretary to the government of India & Chairman, of the CBIC. After the launch of ‘Aranya’, he gave a congratulatory speech to all the awardees. He also encouraged other officers to stay alert regarding illegal practices.

Johri further appreciated the photo collection created by Delhi Customs, dedicated to wildlife conservation. He believed it to be a fine example of innovative ways to observe Swachhta.
The IRS’s Surjit Bhujbal chief commissioner of Delhi Customs Zone informed that the Aranya event will showcase India’s diverse wildlife heritage.

Photographers Appreciated For Clicking Exclusive Wildilife Pictures For Aranya

She shared her past experiences with wildlife crime cases like Indian Customs enforcing wildlife bans. She also pointed out that the experience gained over the years has helped customs officers become more effective in enforcing wildlife crimes.

According to India Today, Surjit Bhujbal said the gallery was inaugurated to showcase India’s diversity in wildlife heritage. He later appreciated the perseverance shown by the eminent photographers in clicking these exclusive pictures for the art gallery ‘Aranya’
