Delhi Is Offering “Tourist Smart Cards” From Sept 4-13 Through Counters At 36 Stations

Delhi is chosen for the G20 Leaders’ Summit this year and leaders of different countries are going to be attending the meeting. Authorities have imposed certain restrictions, including the metro and traffic. Recently, Delhi Metro has announced tourist smart cards for smooth travel.

Delhi Metro Has Announced Tourist Smart Cards!

Delhi From September 4 to 13, 36 metro stations in Delhi will have dedicated booths selling Tourist Smart Cards. This has been done in anticipation of the capital’s probable increased passenger traffic as a result of the approaching G20 Summit.

Two types of tourist smart cards are reportedly available, one with a one-day validity and the other with a three-day validity and unlimited use of the metro system. The Tourist Smart Cards will be accessible on regular days as well, although specific counters have been opened in anticipation of the G20 Summit. A senior official noted that these cards are available to passengers for ten days.

Cards Will Be Available At Designated Counters

Since the G20 Leaders’ Summit is scheduled to take place in New Delhi from September 9 to 10, traffic warnings have also been issued to ensure that attendees and dignitaries can travel without incident.

According to reports, there will be designated counters to help G20 delegates and foreign visitors who may be interested in experiencing the top tourist attractions of the capital city when they come to Delhi as a result of the impending G20 Summit.

The cost of the 1-day Tourist Smart Card is ₹200, while the cost of the 3-day card is ₹500. DMRC noted that a ₹50 refundable security deposit is also included in this sum. If you’re interested in purchasing one of these cards, keep in mind that they will be offered at 36 metro stations.

They include Chawri Bazar, Kashmere Gate, Chandni Chowk, Patel Chowk, Rajiv Chowk, Central Secretariat, New Delhi, Supreme Court, Lok Kalyan Marg and Udyog Bhawan. These stations will all have dedicated counters for the sale of these cards.
