Delhi Metro has recently made headlines for bizarre behaviour exhibited by the people on board it. However, most of the cases that have surfaced so far, though obstructive and annoying, were never openly abusive. This, unfortunately, cannot be said of the recent case. A man was recently arrested for flashing and masturbating in front of a woman on a Delhi Metro platform. He was arrested soon after the woman lodged a complaint.
Delhi Metro: Man Arrested For Masturbating In Front Of A Woman
On the 7th of August, a woman who took a metro from Tughlaqabad got down at Mandi House and was awaiting the arrival of a friend. While waiting, she saw a man on the opposite platform start to masturbate.
This obviously disturbed the woman and she reached out to a CISF official for help. CISF is the Central Industrial Security Force and they provide security to more than 350 industrial units. Before the CISF official could get a hold of the person, he escaped by boarding a metro.
A complaint was lodged at the Pragati Maidan Metro Station and following this, a probe was launched. According to an article recently published by News18, after the man escaped from Mandi house, he got down at Nangloi Metro station.

CCTV Footage And Other Tech Helped In Locating The Man
The police were successful in tracking the individual down and he was subsequently arrested for it. He has been identified as Shivam Sharma who is 23 years old. He works at a pharmaceutical company in its marketing department.
The police used the CCTV footage along with some other technology that helped in tracing the perpetrator’s cellphone. In a statement, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation or the DMRC stated that it does not tolerate such behaviour at all and will take the strictest action against it.
The swift action taken by officials in this case is exemplary and it is hoped that strict action will be taken against the perpetrator.
