Delhi Metro: 35-YO Woman Met With An Accident, Died After Her Saree Stuck In The Door

A 35-year-old lady who had fallen under a Delhi metro train at Inderlok Station died on Saturday at Safdarjung Hospital from her wounds. The event happened on December 14 when a woman, named Reena, had her saree stuck in the door and she ended up under the train. Here’s all about the Delhi Metro accident.

The woman reportedly suffered injuries after being pulled along a platform for over 25 metres, colliding with a track access gate and falling down the tracks, according to a report in The Indian Express.

According to the Delhi Police, they have acted under Section 174. At Delhi’s Inderlok Metro Station, a woman’s saree became stuck in the metro, causing her to be dragged many metres along the platform. Later, while receiving therapy, she passed away. The event took place on December 14. According to Delhi Police, action has been taken under section 174 CrPC.

Vicky, the victim’s relative, described the incident: she was travelling from Nangloi in west Delhi to Mohan Nagar when she was involved in an accident. He stated that her saree became trapped when she got to the Inderlok Metro Station and was changing trains. She suffered severe injuries when she fell. She was in critical condition when she was brought to Safdarjung Hospital and passed away on Saturday evening.

Anuj Dayal, Chief Public Relations Officer for Delhi Metro, discussed the incident and said that it happened at the Inderlok Metro station on Thursday. Based on the initial investigation, it seems that a woman passenger’s clothing became tangled in a train, causing injuries that resulted in her death on Saturday in a hospital.

Further, he stated that an investigation into this occurrence will be conducted by the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety.

Earlier A Man Was Trapped At Qutub Minar Metro Station

On November 12, a man was crushed to death at Delhi’s Qutub Minar Metro Station after becoming trapped between the platform edge and the oncoming metro train. The individual was attempting to use the rails to move from one platform to another rather than the escalators or steps, as per the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). He became trapped in between when a train neared the station.

He was carried for a short distance before passing away immediately after becoming trapped between the train and the platform. The police said that a woman at the station attempted to lift him off the rails. However, he was not saved.

Man Jumped In Front Of Noida Metro & Committed Suicide

Earlier in June, an unnamed guy in Noida allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a metro train. According to police, who were providing details, the deceased man looked to be in his 35. Further, they were making attempts to find out who he was.

According to an official, local police station officers hurried to the scene after learning of the incident. The police revealed that the man’s body has been submitted for a post-mortem and legal processes have been started. The event happened at the Sector 52 station in Noida. It is located along the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation’s Blue Line.
