Delhi Metro Rithala-Narela-Kundli Corridor: Union Cabinet Approves ₹6,230-Crore Project; From Routes To Stations, All About It

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has to be the most well-connected and efficient metro system in India. It truly connects all corners of Delhi and helps to save time and avoid road traffic. To further enhance this connectivity, another great decision has been taken by officials. To improve the connection between the nation’s capital and neighbouring Haryana, the Union Cabinet approved the Delhi Metro’s Phase IV project, which includes a 26.463-kilometre Rithala-Narela-Kundli track.

A Cabinet meeting led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the project, which would include 21 elevated stations, will be finished within four years after approval. Additionally, the government stated that the project will cost ₹6,230 crore to complete, as reported by India TV.

Narela, Bawana, and Rohini in northwest Delhi will have better connectivity thanks to the line, which is an expansion of the Shaheed Sthal (New Bus Adda)-Rithala (Red Line) axis.

Narela, its DDA Sports Complex, Anaj Mandi, and Sector 5 will be stations on this line. Kundli, Nathpur, Barwala, Bawana Industrial Area, Bawana JJ Colony, Sanoth, New Sanoth, Depot Station, Bhorgarh village, Rithala, and Rohini Sectors 25, 26, 31, 32, 36, 35, and 34, and will also have stations along the line.

Phase IV of Delhi Metro’s fourth extension into Haryana, which will include three priority routes with 45 stations and a total length of 65.202 kilometres, is currently under construction. So far, more than 56 per cent of the building has been finished. In phases, Phase IV should be completed by March 2026. Currently, two further routes, totalling 20.762 km, are in the pre-tendering phase.

With a peak passenger volume of 78.67 lakh on November 18, the Delhi Metro, run by the DMRC currently transports 64 lakh passengers on average. The metro system in the NCR has 12 lines, 392 kilometres in length, and 288 stops.

Serving Delhi and its outlying cities, it is the biggest and busiest metro rail system in India. It is the second-oldest metro rail system in India, with more than 4,300 daily departures.
