Delhi is on talks to be turned into a 24-hour city with bustling nightlife circuits as part of the Master Plan 2041. The Delhi Development Authority ( DDA) has granted its preliminary approval for drafting the Master Plan for Delhi 2041. Apart from the nightlife circuits, the plan will also incorporate a plethora of developments in the environment and way of living. The draft of the Master Plan is put in the public domain now to receive the suggestions of the citizens. Read on to know more.

Key Highlights Of Master Plan 2041
The Master Plan draft consists of 22 chapters in 2 volumes. It aims to “foster a sustainable, liveable and vibrant Delhi by 2041”. The key focuses of Delhi Master Plan 2041 are as follows:
- To reduce vehicular pollution through strategies like shifting to greener fuels for public transport and choosing mixed-use of transit-oriented development (TOD)
- To improve the quality of water received from river Yamuna, lakes, natural drains and baolis
- Inviting private and government agencies to invest more for incentivising rented accommodation; this is addressed keeping in mind the large migrant population
- To solve parking issues with a ‘user pays’ principle; personal motor vehicles (excepting non-motorised ones) need to pay for authorised parking spaces
- To generate community spaces to give refuge spots, common kitchens and quarantine spaces in case of an emergency
- Reducing vulnerability to airborne diseases by creating decentralised workspaces, open areas, better habitat design and green-rated developments; reducing dependency on mechanical ventilation systems

Boosting The Night Economy
In an effort to boost the night economy, the Night Life Circuit plan of DDA is aiming to put focus on transport facilities, sports, retail stores, entertainment, cultural festivals, etc. This, in turn, might generate more employment opportunities. Citizens can provide their suggestions and objection for the Master Plan as the initially approved draft plan is now in the public domain. In the Ease of Living Index (EoLI) 2020, Delhi got the 13th rank. With the inclusion of these parameters, the city might rank higher in the coming years.
