Delhi Zoo Launches Sunday Bird Walk Initiative
Delhi Zoo is home to over 1,350 animals and birds. It houses Asiatic lions, leopards, along with bird species like macaws, hornbills, peafowls, and more. Now, the authorities at the zoo have launched an interesting initiative called ‘Sunday Bird Walk- National Zoological Park’. It aims to encourage public participation in biodiversity conservation and bird monitoring. Moreover, it also gives people a chance to learn more about unique and colourful birds.
According to The New Indian Express, the bird walk will be held every Sunday from 6:30 am to 9:30 am under the guidance of ornithologist Dr Paritosh Ahmad and a team of birding volunteers. At a recent walk, participants documented 33 bird species and recorded sightings of over 100 birds across the zoo premises.
