‘He Never Questions My Decisions And Always Backs Me,’ Huma Qureshi On Her Bond With Her Father

On the latest episode of Tere Gully Mein, we met with the super-talented Huma Qureshi to explore the hotspots of Delhi’s iconic Kailash Colony Market and, of course, started the food trail with some delicious kebabs at Saleem’s, her father’s restaurant. Over some mouth-watering food, this episode gave us a deep dive into Huma Qureshi’s relationship with all her family members, the family dynamics, and the kind of love that she shares with her father, her brother, and her mother. To know all about it, read on.

Huma Qureshi Speaks About Her Upbringing

Huma Qureshi has been a South Delhi girl her entire life. She revealed that from school to college, she has spent most of her life within a 5–6 km radius. Moving to Mumbai was a big change in her life, especially when it came to food. But apart from food, living alone also brought her face-to-face with a lot of other changes. Ever since she was a child, her parents always motivated her to speak her mind, to never hold herself back, of course, without hurting anyone. But they also never stopped her from speaking her mind, which is something that she found lacking in other people’s lives as she grew up.

Her Father Always Has Her Back

It truly made us curious to learn about the kind of bond that she shares with her father. Huma Qureshi revealed that her father is someone who has always had her back, who always motivated her, and who never questioned her decisions. He would always ask her what she thinks and what she wants to do and support whatever she decided.

Huma Qureshi also added that she feels closer to her father than her mother. She revealed that her father was the eldest of eight kids and didn’t have a lot of opportunities when he was a child. He couldn’t focus on his education as much.

Despite those challenges, she feels that he is very cool and supportive, someone who doesn’t try to mansplain to her or other women around him. This is something that she found really refreshing because she knows some very educated people who tend to mansplain to their wives, daughters, or sisters. But that is certainly not the case with her father.

Further, in this episode, we also met her father and played a very fun game with them. To learn all about it, watch the full episode on the Curly Tales YouTube channel.
