No Re-Checking Bags! Air India Makes International Travel Via Delhi Simpler With Easy Connect

International travel often means long journeys, multiple check-ins, and airport changes. These processes can leave travellers frustrated and tired after waiting in long queues. So, to make international travel easier, Air India has stepped up with its ‘Easy Connect’ services from Ahmedabad. Read on to know what it is! 

Air India Launches “Easy Connect” From Ahmedabad

As part of the Government of India’s hub-and-spoke initiative, Air India has launched its “Easy Connect” services from Ahmedabad. After Amritsar and Varanasi, Ahmedabad is now the latest city to join the Easy Connect network.

Under this new service, passengers can complete their check-in and immigration formalities in Ahmedabad before flying to Delhi. From there, they can take their international connecting flight without collecting or re-checking their baggage. This makes the entire journey smoother, easier and more convenient.

Two Daily Flights From Ahmedabad

Under the new service, Air India has introduced two daily flights from Ahmedabad to Delhi. The morning flight, AI1117, departs Ahmedabad at 08:25 AM and reaches Delhi at 10:15 AM. It will start operating from September 2. The evening service, AI1121, departs Ahmedabad at 08:15 PM and arrives in Delhi at 10:00 PM. It started operating on September 1.

These two flights will connect passengers from Ahmedabad to 26 international destinations through Delhi. Travellers can catch their onward international flights within four hours of reaching Delhi. The destinations cover several regions, including the US, Canada, UK, Europe, Australia, Asia Pacific, Southeast Asia and the Gulf. Passengers can also connect to cities like London, Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Milan, Rome, Dubai, Singapore, Seoul, Bangkok, Toronto, Sydney, Shanghai and Kuala Lumpur, among others.

Passengers using Easy Connect need to complete some required steps before and during their journey. Indian nationals must enrol for DigiYatra, while web check-in and Customs declaration will not be available at spoke airports. Passengers can book these flights through Air India’s website, app, contact centre or travel agents.
