Delhi To Get Direct AC Buses & Elevated Road To Newly-Opened Noida International Airport

The much-anticipated Noida International Airport began commercial operations on June 15. With more routes planned at the airport to improve air connectivity across Delhi-NCR, plans are also underway to strengthen road access to the newly operational airport. New bus services and interstate corridors are being proposed to make travel to and from the airport more convenient. Here’s everything you need to know.

Noida International Airport To Get More Interstate Bus Connectivity

The newly opened Noida International Airport is expected to serve passengers from across the NCR region. While several flight routes are already operational, airlines are planning to add more services in the coming months. Now, according to NDTV, authorities are also working on new bus routes to improve connectivity to the airport for commuters travelling from Delhi, Noida, Faridabad, and other NCR cities.

Reports suggest that the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) is planning to introduce a dedicated Delhi-Jewar route with air-conditioned buses to ensure seamless connectivity. The initiative aims to improve service frequency, reduce travel time, and strengthen last-mile connectivity for passengers.

NDTV further reported that additional bus routes are being considered to enhance interstate connectivity to the airport. Proposed routes include Delhi-Rewari, Delhi-Karnal, Delhi-Rohtak, Delhi-Alwar, and Nanaksar-Delhi-Ghaziabad Bus Terminal.

Authorities believe these routes will improve links between Delhi and key towns in Haryana and Rajasthan, while also offering more convenient travel options for commuters across the NCR.

Elevated Road Planned From Delhi

Besides bus corridors, an elevated road infrastructure project has also been proposed to improve access to the airport and reduce congestion on existing routes. Some of the key projects under consideration are an elevated corridor from Sarai Kale Khan to Sohna, another elevated corridor from Faridabad to Jewar, and finally a ₹650-crore elevated road project through Kalindi Kunj. The latter is expected to make travel between Delhi, Noida and Faridabad largely signal-free, NDTV reported.
