Viral Post Appreciates Zomato For Delivery Partners In Wheelchairs
Zomato just called me before a delivery to let me know my delivery partner uses a wheelchair and if I could come at the door to assist with the handoff.
Two things about this.
1- that Zomato has wheelchair-enabled delivery partners at all.
2- that they built a process around… pic.twitter.com/402njfRMMB

Delhi resident Janhavi Jain (@janwhyy) shared an incident that happened with her when she ordered food on Zomato. A few minutes after placing the order, she received a call from Zomato, and what the caller said surprised her. The caller informed her that the person delivering her order was disabled and in a wheelchair. They also requested Janhavi to come to the door to receive the order.
What impressed her the most was that Zomato has wheelchair-enabled delivery partners. And second, that the company hasn’t just stopped there, they’ve actually built a thoughtful process around it, from a real phone call to a gentle heads-up and a small ask. It’s quite impressive! She also shared a screenshot of the portal that mentioned, “Your delivery is handled by a person with disability. Thank them by leaving a tip!”

Netizens Share Their Thoughts
This post appreciating Zomato has gone viral across social media, with many netizens sharing their thoughts.
One comment read, “What if the customer is also in a wheelchair?”
Another user commented, “I got this once too, and it gave an option to change the delivery partner. I did it because my house did not have wheelchair access. I felt bad for that person because he might have lost his commission. However, he avoided the pain of reaching my floor.”
“I understand that it’s to help them, but I would feel extremely guilty if someone came to deliver my food in a wheelchair. Unacceptable! There are better ways to manage optics for the brand,” one comment read.
“That’s an amazing example of accessibility and inclusion. It starts with us, and it is always possible. Let’s make kindness and inclusion look cool,” another netizen added.”
