On the latest episode of Sunday Brunch, rather Sunday dinner, Curly Tales Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani travelled all the way to a village, Bande in the Jaipur district of Rajasthan. And she did so for her special guest who is none other than Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who is currently travelling 3570 km by foot as part of the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Rahul Gandhi Is A Trained Scuba Diver

Curly Tales, Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani asked Rahul Gandhi, if he is a scuba diving expert and trainer. Rahul Gandhi tells her ” When I was in Florida, I used to teach it, I mean, as a hobby.” He goes on to add that he dives and also does something called free diving. Rahul Gandhi adds that free diving means diving and breath-holding without scuba gear.

Kamiya goes on to ask him for how long he can hold his breath underwater. The Congress leader tells her that this depends if he is trained up or not. If he is trained up, he can hold his breath for long.

He Also Has A Black Belt In The Japanese Martial Art Aikido

Apart from scuba diving, Rahul Gandhi dons many caps. He also has a black belt in the martial art-form Aikido. This is a modern Japanese martial art which is practices across 140 countries. The Congress leader also revealed that he used to box in college.

When it comes to martial arts, Rahul Gandhi says that many people don’t understand martial arts. He tells Curly Tales, “They’re not actually designed to be violent at all. In fact, they’re quite the opposite of that.” The politician goes on to add that people are often taught to use martial arts to attack and harm people. But if taught correctly, it can be a lovely thing.
