Rahul Gandhi attended a prayer meeting on Wednesday at the Rajiv Gandhi Memorial in Sriperumbudur. The location, Sriperumbudur is the place where Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated on 21 May 1991. The Congress leader attended this meeting a couple of days before the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ begins. He also paid flower tribute at the late Rajiv Gandhi’s memorial. DK Shivakumar and many local congress leaders attended the prayer meeting as well.

The Congress leader will now embark on the journey of Bharat Jodo Yatra. After the prayer meeting in Sriperumbudur, Rahul Gandhi went towards Kanyakumari. On reaching there, MK Stalin, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu will present him the Indian flag and Rahul Gandhi will be in a rally starting the Bharat Jodo Yatra. The foot march of the Yatra will start tomorrow. He is now all set to begin his journey of covering 3,570 km in 150 days from Kanyakumari to Kashmir.

Rahul Gandhi will not stay in any luxurious hotel during this nationwide yatra. All the yatris including him will stay in containers that have been arranged in different locations. There are a total of 60 containers to spend the night. Also some of these continuous have beds, air conditioners, and washroom facilities as well. Yatris will be sharing the containers among themselves except Rahul Gandhi. He will stay in one container by himself because of security purposes. The weather will be different in various locations from Kanyakumari to Kashmir in the span of 5 months. So the arrangements have been made accordingly with respect to the change in weather in every location.
