Natives of Kolkata often call the shikara ride a ‘nouka ride’. ‘Nouka’ is a Bengali word that stands for boat. The nouka ride by Polo Floatel begins as early as 6:45 AM. Along with the picnic basket, the ride also provides guests with Bluetooth speakers and a polaroid picture. Polo Floatel ( earlier Floatel) is one of the swankiest hotels in the heart of Kolkata and it sits on the Hoogly river. The morning boat rides pamper guests with juice or piping-hot tea, fresh fruits, Kolkata’s iconic Prajapati biscuits, a breakfast snack ( poha / upma/kathi roll / chola luchi) and sandesh. If you’re taking the ride post lunch, the menu will include tea in khullar or coffee, Prajapati biscuits and jhalmuri in paper cone.

Witness The Beauty Of The Ancient Ghats

The boat ride from Polo Floatel can take you through the historic ghats of the city. The river banks, dotted with a plethora of ancient buildings, shrines and ferry bridges will strike your awe for sure. The ghats, bustling crowds rushing to catch the ferries, kids bathing in the river and the constant movement of vehicles on the two bridges will give you a glimpse into the heart and soul of the city. The beauty lies in the calmness of the river in contrast to the hurly-burly all around.

So slip into the safety jacket and gear up for the ride already! Get your slot booked by calling up on 8697971676/9830623535. The cost of the ride is ₹3999+taxes for two people. ₹1000/guest will be required for additional guests. A maximum of four guests will be allowed per boat.
