Drunk Customer Abuses Eatery Staff & Refuses To Pay Bill; Gets Killed Over It

In a tragic incident that took place recently in the village of Wanjola, Sillod, a drunk customer lost his life over an argument that escalated into a murder. The police detained the alleged murderers, produced them in court and had them remanded for three days. According to a statement by a police inspector, the victim went to the eatery to celebrate his birthday along with his friends and was drunk. This led to a spat which ended his life.

The victim’s name was Santosh Bamnawat who was 25 years old and worked as a mechanic. According to the police inspector of Sillod, Sitaram Mhetre, he went to a local eatery along with his friends to celebrate his birthday. Evidently, he had consumed a considerable amount of alcohol before going to the eatery and was drunk.

According to Mhetre, he kept abusing the waiting staff as well as the cook over the quality of the food served. This angered the staff. After a while, the victim’s friends left the place and the victim passed out in the hotel. After coming to, he restarted his tirade against the cook and the waiting staff.

He also refused to pay the bill of ₹1,600. This aggravated the already angered duo who proceeded to take him some distance away on their bike. They then assaulted and dumped him on the roadside near the Dongargaon Phata.

Child Discovered The Victim Around

The incident took place on the 5th of May, Friday at night and the victim was murdered on Saturday sometime after 1 AM. On the morning of the 6th of May, a child discovered the victim and alerted the villagers about the same.

The villagers then called the police. Bamnawat was still alive when the police arrived, however, he succumbed to his injuries soon after he was taken to a hospital. The accused have been identified as Sanket Jadhav, who is 21 years old, and Gajanan Danke, who is 24 years old.
