In February 2022, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, launched the ‘Dubai Can’ initiative. This city-wide movement aims to reduce plastic consumption and promote eco-conscious decisions among UAE residents. Since its inception, ‘Dubai Can’ has successfully prevented using nearly 18 million 500ml single-use plastic water bottles.
