1. Oman Rules Out Tsunami Threat

After a 4.9 magnitude earthquake struck the east of the Gulf of Aden on the evening of September 3rd, Oman Meteorology has ruled out the risk of tsunami waves. Yes, it mentioned that there was no risk of a tsunami. It should be noted that this earthquake was recorded at 6:11 PM Omani time, and it was at a depth of 77 km. The Gulf News mentions that the meteorological authority said that the tremor did not pose a tsunami threat to the coastline of Oman

2. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Visits ADIHEX 2026

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammad Rashid Al Maktoum, who is the Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and the Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, visited ADIHEX. This is the 23rd edition of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition. It is taking place at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi. During his visit, the Crown Prince of Dubai focused on the importance of preserving the heritage of the UAE and passing it on to future generations.

3. Dubai Police Seizes 13,657 scooters

Dubai Police have announced that it has confiscated 13,657 electric scooters. These figures are for the first eight months of the year, and it is part of an intensified crackdown on riders who flout traffic laws and safety regulations. Moreover, these seizures were carried out during the ongoing traffic campaigns. The targeted dangerous riding practices pose a risk to both scooter users and other road users.

4. Dubai Invite Programme Closes After Receiving Over 90,000 Applications

The Dubai Invite programme has been closed to new registrations. This comes after it received over 90,000 applications from residents. In fact, over 30,000 benefits have already been distributed since the initiative was launched in July. Benefits will continue to be issued for residents who are successfully registered visitors before the final allocation is reached.

5. Filipino Workers Get Free Health Services In Abu Dhabi

Recently, 100 overseas Filipino workers and their dependents received free medical consultations and health screens. This happened in Abu Dhabi as part of a campaign which aims to help the Filipino community. ‘The Beat The Heat Campaign: Stay Cool, Stay Healthy This Summer,’ was organised by the migrant workers in Abu Dhabi. This was in partnership with Al Ahalia Hospital Kabayan Clinic.

6. Red Alert Issued For Parts Of Saudi Arabia

Red weather alerts have been issued for heavy rain for Asir and Al-Baha on September 3rd. Orange and yellow alerts for moderate and light rain have been active for parts of Makkah and the Eastern Province. As revealed by the NCM, the red alert includes heavy rain for Al-Majardah and Al-Baha in the Al-Baha region.

7. SalamAir Launches Direct Flight To Mogadishu

SalamAir recently announced that it has launched direct flights to Mogadishu, which is the capital of Somalia. This is a new airline between the two nations, connecting their capitals. The airline will operate two weekly flights on the route. The fares start at OMR 79.99 for one way.

8. Dubai RTA Implements Traffic Improvements

Dubai Roads and Transport Authority took to its account to mention how it has implemented traffic improvements at the Al Qudra intersection, which heads towardsAbu Hail Street and Salah Al Din Street. This includes a new lane from Union Street for those who are coming from Dubai, with directions to Abu Hail Street and Salah Al Din Street. With improvements by the Dubai RTA, it’s bound to facilitate vehicle movement on the route.

9. IndiGo Doha-Bengaluru Flight Makes Emergency Landing

A Doha-Bengaluru IndiGo flight was diverted to Muscat after a medical emergency that involved one of the operating crew members. So, when they landed in Oman, the crew members received immediate medical attention from airport medical teams. The crew member has since recovered.

10. Sky Bridge Second Phase Launched

Recently, the second phase of the ‘Sky Bridge’ initiative was launched on Wednesday. This event was held under the auspices of HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said, Governor of Dhofar. Moreover, the initiative forms an important part of the activities of the Gulf Green Mobility Forum, organised by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.
