Dubai Residents Aged 40 And Above Can Now Book An Appointment For Covid-19 Vaccine

UAE began with the mass vaccination program in December 2020, and since then, nearly 40 per cent of the population has already received at least the first shot of the vaccine. And now, after limiting the vaccine to senior citizens and people of determination, Dubai authorities have announced that Dubai resident visa holders aged 40 and above can now book an appointment to take a covid-19 shot. Kids Are Also Eligible To Get A Covid-19 Vaccine Shot In Dubai 

The Dubai Health Authority has also announced that people aged 60 and above with a valid resident visa issued in any emirate- can register for the vaccine, provided they can prove they are residing in Dubai. Besides this, the authorities also announced that not only adults, but kids too are eligible to get a covid-19 vaccine shot.

In terms of vaccine, the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine can be administered to anyone 16 years and above (the initial age was 18) and, the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine can now be given to anyone aged 18 years old and above. All GCC nationals with a valid Emirates ID can get vaccinated at DHA facilities, regardless of age.

Emiratis Can Now Register With Dubai Health Authorities To Book An Appointment 

Those now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine in Dubai are – all Emiratis 16 years and above, residents aged 60 and above living in Dubai, all valid Dubai resident visa holders aged 40 and above, Dubai resident visa holders with chronic diseases or those in the people of determination category, and last but the most important, Frontliners and vital sector workers.

From today, anyone who fits the above-mentioned criteria can book a vaccination appointment through the Dubai Health Authority App or contact the Dubai Health Authority centre.
