Dubai Residents Can Soon Enjoy 50 New Playgrounds

Listen up Dubai! In a bid to encourage a healthier lifestyle, the Dubai municipality will soon build 50 new playgrounds across the city. Time to head outdoors!

Mommies, listen up! There’s big news coming your way. You don’t have to fret anymore about planning child-friendly weekends. The Dubai municipality has now unveiled plans of building 50 playgrounds in residential areas across the city. Sheikh Hamdan, Crown Prince of Dubai and chairman of Dubai Executive Council, has proposed the new plan, in an effort to encourage a healthier lifestyle in the city.

Sheikh Hamdan has also directed that the playgrounds must be built taking certain factors into consideration including needs of the visitors, proximity and the overall sustainability. Dawoud Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality said: “We have immediately begun implementing the directives of His Highness to set up 50 squares and playgrounds for children, which will be completed by the end of 2019 and will be distributed in various areas including the residential areas in Deira, Bur Dubai, Nad Al Sheba, Lehbab and Hatta City.”
