Several students who were part of the National Charity School in Al Garhoud benefited from the ‘Gift It Forward’ initiative by Dubai Holding. As mentioned in a report of Khaleej Times, this initiative served hundreds of children from grades 5 to 12. The ‘Gift It Forward’ initiative is now back in town for its second edition, giving beneficiaries a chance to not only receive gifts for Ramadan but also select and curate their own items on the basis of their personal needs and those of their loved ones.
For this purpose, a special marketplace was set up for both boys and girls. And the students were truly spoilt for choice with a wide array of items displayed. Yes, these included items such as clothing, personal care products, accessories, toys, school supplies, and even homeware. As a result, students were able to choose up to 10 brand-new items from a selection of exciting things donated by 25 companies.

As it happens, this was the first time that Dubai Holding organised the event at a school. Just the previous year, the initiative, which distributed 1,20,000 items valued at approximately AED7 million, were given to 10,500 individuals who were mostly workers. The overwhelming response from the previous edition has only boosted the determination of the people.
This year, over 200,000 brand-new items were collected from the partner brands and there are over 500 volunteers to help out with this initiative. It is set to benefit 11,000 residents in Dubai.
