Dubai’s Museum of the Future is set to temporarily close its doors as the landmark attraction prepares for a major overhaul. Visitors have only a few more days to experience its current exhibitions before the museum closes on September 1, 2026.

The Museum Of The Future Will Close From September 1

The closure is part of a planned transformation that will see the museum introduce a new generation of interactive experiences in 2027.

The museum has urged residents and tourists to visit before September 1, when work on its next phase will begin. The current experiences will make way for a refreshed visitor journey designed around new scientific, technological, and societal developments.

The Museum of the Future first opened in February 2022 and quickly became one of Dubai’s most recognisable attractions. Its current experiences explore themes including space travel, artificial intelligence, climate, ecology, health, and technology.

What Will Happen During The Closure?

The upcoming revamp will replace the museum’s major exhibitions with new experiences, according to Arabian News. The museum has described the next phase as a deeper, more immersive, and interactive way for visitors to explore the opportunities and challenges that could shape the coming decades.

The new visitor experience has also been influenced by ideas from people around the world. A global call for suggestions received more than 1,000 ideas through the museum’s social media platforms.

Rather than keeping the same exhibitions for years, the museum says this approach allows it to keep pace with scientific breakthroughs, emerging technology and changing global challenges.
