Keeta Drone has resumed autonomous delivery operations in Dubai, backed by fresh regulatory approvals from the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) and continued support from local authorities. For a Chinese-owned drone logistics operator that holds the UAE’s first commercial BVLOS licence, the restart is more than a comeback; it’s the next real step in the company’s push to make drone delivery a genuine part of Dubai’s everyday food-ordering habits, not just a flashy pilot project.
Keeta Drone Has Resumed Delivery & This Is How It Works
The service is currently based at Silicon Central Mall, developed by Line Investment and Properties, connecting eligible surrounding areas with a growing roster of participating F&B brands. Ordering is refreshingly simple; everything happens directly through the existing Keeta app, so there’s no separate platform to download or figure out. Once an order’s placed, customers collect it from a designated locker at either RIT or the Emirates Building near Foodings Cafe in Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO). For residents in select parts of DSO, there’s an even smoother option: Keeta’s rider collaboration mode, which delivers straight to your front door instead of a locker.
What You Can Actually Order
The F&B lineup is broader than you’d expect from a tech showcase. Think coffee, boba and speciality beverages, shawarma, desserts, Italian and Indian cuisine, spanning local, regional and international brands. That variety is deliberate. Keeta Drone general manager Junwei Yang has said the goal is proving autonomous delivery can handle everyday cravings across categories, not just a single novelty dish.
