If you’ve got a flight booked to or from Dubai in the next few months, it’s worth double-checking before you pack. Several international airlines have extended their Middle East route suspensions, and some passengers are now looking at October before things return to normal.

The list keeps growing. British Airways flights to Dubai, Bahrain, Amman and Tel Aviv remain grounded until October 31, and the airline has permanently pulled out of Jeddah altogether. Singapore Airlines pushed its Dubai suspension to October 24, a fair jump from the August 2 date passengers were originally told. Cathay Pacific did something similar, extending both Dubai and Riyadh services to late October, having earlier scheduled a September 1 return as per Gulf News.

Not Everyone’s Affected The Same Way
Lufthansa Group is a bit of a mixed bag. Dubai flights on Lufthansa and Swiss are suspended until September 13, but the wider group’s services to Abu Dhabi, Amman, Beirut, Riyadh and a handful of other cities stretch all the way to October 24. On a brighter note, Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa and Swiss have resumed Tel Aviv routes, though Brussels Airlines hasn’t followed suit yet.
Turkish Airlines has already resumed flights to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Damascus, Beirut and Amman. Flights to Iran remain the exception. Air France is also easing back in, with Dubai service returning July 27, even as Riyadh and Beirut routes stay paused a little longer.

What Passengers Should Actually Do
Every airline above has said roughly the same thing: check directly before heading to the airport, because resumption dates keep shifting. Most are offering rebooking, rerouting or refunds depending on ticket type, but the terms differ carrier to carrier. If you’re flying through Dubai or any Gulf hub in the next 90 days, this is one of those situations where five minutes on the airline’s website saves you a very bad day at check-in.
