E-scooters Banned Inside Metro, Tram In Dubai; Here’s Why

Travelling in Dubai through a Metro or Tram makes it easier for the people. However, from March 1, last mile connectivity transport option, electric scooters have now been banned inside Metro and Tram. This has been done to ensure the safety of passengers.

E-Scooters No Longer Allowed At Dubai Metro And Tram

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that commuters travelling by e-scooters for last-mile transport are no longer allowed to park their vehicles inside the Dubai Metro and Tram. This has been brought in place to ensure the safety of the people riding the e-scooter and those around them as well. For this, a robot will also be there that will detect violations committed by users who travel by e-scooters or bicycles. In a report by Khaleej Times, it was revealed that these robots have been tasked with the duty of surveilling and spotting violations.

This ended up blocking sidewalks and even took over parking slots in many residential communities. It’s worth mentioning that Dubai RTA in its official announcement on next has called this #YourSafetyOrPriority.

So if you are someone who travels via e-scooters for last mile transport, you might want to keep this development in mind.
