Recently, Johannesburg in South Africa was affected by an earthquake. This time, Eastern Kashmir has witnessed an earthquake of magnitude 5.4! It was extremely severe and resulted in damage. In fact, Delhi and its surrounding areas felt the tremors of this earthquake. Here is a full report on the Kashmir earthquake.

Eastern Kashmir Witnessed An Earthquake!

Residents of Delhi and surrounding areas felt tremors of the high-magnitude earthquake in Kashmir. According to the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the earthquake occurred in eastern Kashmir at 1:30 pm on Tuesday. According to the first reports, the earthquake in Jammu & Kashmir’s Doda area occurred 30 km away from the village of Gandoh Bhalessa. Significant tremors were felt in Jammu and Kashmir. The trembling was also felt in other parts of northern India, including Delhi and the neighbouring areas.

Although there weren’t any huge tremors felt in Delhi-NCR, there was a lot of “shaking of things.” As soon as possible, people flocked to Twitter to see if an earthquake had indeed occurred. Additionally, Twitter was inundated with posts after the news was confirmed.

Property Damaged In Kashmir!

According to a report by Greater Kashmir, following a Tuesday earthquake in the Kishtwar area of Jammu and Kashmir, two government schools were destroyed. Teams have reportedly been activated to evaluate the harm done to Kishtwar’s residential and other structures, according to the Deputy Commissioner. In the impacted areas, a rescue operation has been started.

The majority of the structures in Doda have acquired cracks as a result of the enormous earthquake. An official in Doda stated that they have information about the roof of a school collapsing after the earthquake.

He further added that they were getting calls from all around. Although there have been few reports of buildings collapsing, there have been numerous reports of property suffering significant damage as a result of cracks in buildings.

However, more precise numbers are still pending and teams have been dispatched to the locations where the administration has received reports.

Authorities are still investigating for any damages or loss of life in several parts of Eastern Kashmir.
