With Ramadan 2025 fast approaching, UAE residents are looking beyond the country’s borders for a change of scenery. According to new data of the most-searched destinations during Ramadan from Wego, the region’s leading travel app, international flight searches have surged by 32.45% compared to last year. Whether it’s visiting family, exploring new cultures, or simply taking a well-deserved break, UAE travellers have their sights set on some exciting destinations.
UAE Travellers’s Most-Searched Destinations During Ramadan
Wego’s findings reveal the top five most-searched destinations for UAE travellers this Ramadan:
- Egypt – A long-time favourite, despite rising travel costs.
- India – Always a top choice for family reunions.
- Pakistan – Showing a massive increase in demand.
- Saudi Arabia – A popular spot for Umrah pilgrims.
- Jordan – A mix of history, culture, and religious significance.
Other trending destinations include the Philippines, Lebanon, Morocco, and Nepal, with Nepal taking the spotlight by recording an astounding 214.76% increase in searches compared to last year. Pakistan is also a rising star, seeing an 82.65% jump in travel interest.
Rising Airfare? No Problem!
Nine out of the ten most searched destinations have seen airfare hikes, but that hasn’t deterred UAE travellers. Egypt leads the pack with a 42.29% increase, followed closely by Lebanon at 40.94%. On the bright side, Jordan bucks the trend, offering a 1.17% drop in ticket prices—small but still a win for budget-conscious flyers.
With demand soaring, UAE travellers are booking their flights earlier than ever, typically more than a month in advance to lock in better rates.
Staycation or Vacation?
For those preferring to stay local, Dubai’s hospitality industry has something special in store. Ramadan 2025 will see hotel rates drop by a whopping 54.04%, making luxury getaways within the UAE more appealing. This price slash has led to a 3% rise in staycation searches on Wego, with four-star hotels being the preferred choice for 40.15% of travellers seeking a mix of comfort and affordability.
