Eid al-Adha Break: Flight Ticket Prices Surge By A Whopping 300% Amid Rising Holiday Travel Demand!

If you have plans to travel this summer, then you need to think again. So if you are still in the planning stage, and you are yet to book the tickets, you’re already aware of the surge in prices of flight tickets during the holiday season. With these tickets, seeing a surge of a whopping 300%, here’s all you need to know about the summer travel demand rise.

UAE Flights See An Increase In Price

For several UAE residents, they might end up spending about two months of their salary due to the surge in the prices of flight tickets, as revealed by Khaleej Times. Yes, this rise in the flight tickets of popular South Asian destinations comes during the peak travel season. According to experts, travelling to countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and the Philippines can be quite expensive during this time as the price of the flight tickets has increased by a whopping 300%. This surge in the price is, however, compared to the off-peak seasons, and so the families who are making travel plans for the season are certainly feeling the pinch.

As revealed by some travel experts, employees earning up to AED7000 might just end up spending AED14,000 for return tickets, if they wish to fly to popular South Asian countries during the summer season. Although budget carriers generally offer relief, especially over short flights, they are also selling seats that are priced up to AED10,000 or even more. As it happens, taking a flight via a budget airline to popular international cities from the UAE can be quite expensive this summer. Whether you are flying to Mumbai via Air India Express or to Kochi via IndiGo, you will have to pay at least AED2000 or maybe even more, depending on the availability of seats due to the high demand.

Some Cities Are Still Quite Affordable

However, flights to some cities, such as Cairo, are currently quite affordable. But as opined by several travel experts, the surge in the tickets started a month ago, as the same routes, which were earlier available for AED500 for a one-week trip, just a month ago, are now available for at least AED1,500. Cities like Kochi, Chennai, Bangalore, Lahore, Dhaka, and Delhi are seeing the steepest increase in flight ticket prices.

So, if you are also planning to travel to the city, you might want to keep the steep rise in prices in mind.
