While the jury is out on this, as it depends on the moon sighting, it should be noted that people are already planning their getaways. Yes, according to travel agencies, there has, however, been a shift towards more family-oriented and experience-based trips. Here’s what the UAE residents are planning for the ideal feather getaway.
Eid al-Fitr 2025 Travel Trends
As revealed by travel agencies in a report by Khaleej Times, there has been a shift towards more family-oriented and experience-based trips. The UAE residents are offering a more immersive getaway than conventional holidays. Yes, about 60% of travellers are choosing outbound trips. Not to mention, 40% to 50% are looking for inbound travel in order to welcome family and friends. Yes, families are already preparing for Eid al-Fitr, which falls at the end of the holy month of Ramadan. It is expected that this Islamic holiday will probably fall at the end of March or in the beginning of April.
What Are The Trending Destinations?
As it happens, there is also a growing experience for preference for cultural, adventure, and nature-based experiences. In fact, regions that offer affordable luxury and easy access are also a top choice. At this point, it’s worth noting that while the Balkans and Europe remain popular for experimental travel. Other budget-friendly regions, such as the Caucasus region, offer high participation from the residents of the UAE.

Trending destinations this year happen to be Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Armenia. These are among the top choices as they offer visa on arrival and e-visa options. Moreover, airfare for the popular routes has already seen a surge by 15% to 20%. Not to mention, there is also a spike in the hotel rates by 20% to 30% during the peak travel periods.
Although spontaneous travel is certainly still a strong trend amongst travellers in the UAE, planning in advance for visa-dependent destinations, such as Japan or Europe, is certainly advisable. So, if you are someone who has plans to travel to a destination that requires a visa, you might want to plan ahead to avoid any last-minute hassle.
