Winners of the Aviation Business Awards have been announced, and Emirates airline has bagged the title of Airline of the Year 2020. The airline was awarded for its agility and innovation in the covid-19 times. Emirates was lauded for its customer-centric approach, striking a balance between business imperatives with new health and safety protocols, while maintaining its industry-leading passenger experience.

Emirates Became One Of The First Airline To Redesign Customer Experience

The pandemic struck was hard and keeping all the safety measures in mind, Emirates took varied steps to ensure the safety of its passengers and staff. The airline was one of the first to redesign the customer experience and implement biosafety measures across every touchpoint. It took one step further and included complimentary hygiene kits for all passengers, dedicated crew to maintain onboard lavatory cleanliness, protective screens at check-in desks and more. The airline also took care of personal protective equipment (PPE) for frontline employees, enhanced aircraft cleaning and more.

Emirates Is Now Rated As The Safest Airline In The World

For on ground, it launched self-check-in and bag drop kiosks at Dubai International Airport (DXB), to reduce the person to person contact. It was followed with the launch of the world’s first biometrics path offering customers a frictionless journey across four key checkpoints at the airport.

The airline has been quite consistent with their work and has managed to make air travel safe again for their flyers with dedicated efforts and innovations. Hence, it has now been rated as the safest airline in the world in its response to the Covid-19 pandemic, according to the Safe Travel Barometer.

Well, besides launching varied on the ground and in-flight services, the airline also started offering the industry’s first multi-risk travel insurance and Covid-19 cover. Emirates is working hard to safely rebuild its network in the coming months as more airports and cities reopen.
