The report which quoted a passenger, mentioned that while the flight was supposed to leave at 9:50 AM, they were not informed of the flight cancellation until 9:45 AM after passengers stood outside the airport for more than two hours. People were allowed inside or outside and the updates were hardly there.

Manchester Airport Power Outage

It’s worth noting that while the power had later been restored, the outage had affected airport systems, which included the processing of boarding cards and baggage screening. As a result, there was a lot of delay on the two terminals. Finally, the third busiest airport in Britain sent out an advisory on Sunday, that Terminals 1 and 2 flights had been cancelled until further notice and passengers had been advised to wait for further information before travelling to the airport. In fact, several users on social media also took to their account to share videos of the chaotic scenes from the airport that was filled with passengers who could not board their flights.

BBC later reported that flights have now been resumed after the day of chaos. With up to 90,000 passengers affected due to cancelled or delayed flights, check-in and departures at Terminal 1 and 2 have now been fully reinstated as mentioned by the airport in an update.
