Due to the lengthy Schengen visa application process, a lot of UAE visitors who require a visa are unable to travel to the EU. When the travel industry resumed following the relaxation of regulations following the pandemic, people waited for months to get visa appointments.

Following summer breaks and other festive periods, UAE saw a surge in demand for Schengen visas. Owing to this demand, the waiting period for visa applications went on getting stretched and still is.

Waiting Period Persists

The waiting period can range from 15 days upto 2 months depending on the destination you choose to travel to. Countries like UK, Germany, Switzerland and France, are in much demand by UAE residents.

Owing to this week and month-long waiting span for Schengen visas, people are approaching countries that don’t require visas. Exploring a whole different set of places due to this issue is scaling up small countries’ tourism.

The countries like Georgia, Azerbaijan, Albania and Serbia are gaining demand. The top two places where locals are now expressing interest in travelling are Kazakhstan and Monte Negro.

So hold on tight, as the Schengen visa application might take a few more months for approval.
