Qatar To Host Global ‘ONE RUN FOR ALL’ Race This May With 2,500+ Runners

Running events in the Gulf have become a much bigger thing lately. Not just for athletes either. Families show up, kids run around, people take photos, somebody always turns up in matching team shirts. It’s half race, half social evening sometimes. The 3rd edition of the global half-marathon event called ONE RUN FOR ALL will take place on May 24th at Lusail International Circuit, with organisers expecting more than 2,500 participants across different age groups.

What makes this race different is that it happens across the world at the same time.

According to organisers, runners from over 110 countries are expected to take part globally this year. More than 200,000 people are expected to join overall, including participants from countries across the Gulf, Europe, Asia, Africa and South America.

So while people are running in Doha at night, others will also be running in places like Brazil, China, Serbia and Armenia. It’s one of those events that feels local and international at the same time.

Families And Casual Runners Are Clearly Part Of The Plan

Not everybody wants to run 21 kilometres. And organisers seem fully aware of that. This year’s event includes six different race categories. There’s the traditional 21.1-kilometre half marathon, but also shorter distances like 10km, 5km and even 1km runs. Also, a new 400-metre race for children has been added.

For many parents, that probably makes the whole thing easier to join without worrying whether younger kids can keep up. There’s also a 2.5km route aimed more at families and casual participants.

The Evening Sounds More Like A Festival Than A Standard Race

Entertainment activities inside the fan zone will begin from 4:30 pm, while the races themselves start later at 9 pm. Everything is expected to wrap up by around 10 pm.

That said, evening races make sense in Doha’s weather, especially in warmer months when daytime running can feel brutal after about ten minutes. Organisers say the event is meant to be enjoyable not only for runners but also for families and friends who come along to support.

And if previous editions are anything to go by, expect music, crowds, cheering sections and a lot of phones recording finish-line moments.
