Now that Independence Day is around the corner and security is much tighter, it seems that there is again a delay in security clearance. Hence, if you have plans for international travel around Independence Day, it is recommended that you plan and leave your house accordingly.
Mumbai Airport Security Checks May Take Longer

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport or the CSMIA is known for delayed security checks and many people have noted the same multiple times on their social media handles. However, around Independence Day, security gets tighter.
Hence, it is highly likely that you may be delayed at the airport. It is therefore advised that you should plan accordingly and leave your house extra early. Recently, the co-founder of Svami Drinks, Aneesh Bhasin, took to his Instagram account and highlighted the delay that he experienced at the airport.
In a post, as well as his stories, he noted that it takes around 30 minutes for the airport to clear departures. His posts showed a host of people waiting in line for their security checks to be cleared. He said that his flight was at 9 AM, implying that he might be late for it.

This delay may have occurred as the biggest national holiday, Independence Day is just around the corner. Since security checks around this time get tighter, clearance may take longer than it usually does.
Many people also took to their X, formerly Twitter, accounts and ranted about the long period of time it takes to clear security checks at the Mumbai airport. This is not the first time it is happening, however. Multiple instances have been reported where it took hours for security checks to be cleared. Many people have complained that sometimes, the security checks take longer than the flight itself!
