User chuggingdeemer recently took to Reddit and shared a screenshot of the prices of tickets in Premium Tatkal on the Bengaluru-Kolkata Train in the 2 AC compartment. Where typically, the prices for the journey don’t cost more than ₹3,000, the prices in the screenshot showed a whopping ₹10,100!
The user expressed their incredulity at the prices, stating that they don’t know anybody who would be willing to spend as much money on a train ticket. In the comments section, it becomes clear that these prices are not for regular tickets but for Premium Tatkal. Premium Tatkal are for those people who are looking for last-minute travel options in case there is some emergency.
According to an article which was recently published by the Hindustan Times or HT, Tatkal ticket prices are capped but Premium Tatkal ticket prices are not. They follow dynamic pricing which increases depending on the demand.
