In a significant development, travellers planning trips to Dubai now have the option to apply for a 60-day visa before their departure, marking a step forward in simplifying the visa process and improving accessibility.
Making Visiting Dubai Easier for Travellers With Cost Adjustments
Although the introduction of this service last year was met with enthusiasm, it’s essential to note that there have been slight cost increases since then. Launched by The Federal Authority for Identity, Nationality, Customs and Ports Security (ICP), this service allows visitors to extend the validity of their visas for 60 days, now at a fee of Dhs500, compared to the initial Dhs400. Additionally, a 5 per cent VAT fee applies to the service.
Online Application Process
Travellers are required to complete the application process online via the ICP website or its app using the UAE PASS. It’s crucial for travellers to complete this process before their arrival in the country to avoid any complications. This updated process ensures a smoother entry into Dubai, streamlining the travel experience.
Documentation and Requirements
Applicants must ensure they have all necessary documents, including a personal photo, passport copy, and, for nationals from specific countries, an identity card from their country of origin. Additionally, applicants must possess a passport valid for at least six months, a travel ticket for onward journey or departure from the UAE, and valid health insurance during their stay.
Notification and Approval
Upon submission of the application, applicants can expect to receive notification within 30 days. The process is streamlined, with successful applicants receiving electronic confirmation via email, offering a convenient and efficient approach.
Implications for Travellers and Residents
This updated visa service is particularly advantageous for tourists who are not eligible for a visa on arrival, providing them with the flexibility and convenience to plan their trips and ensuring a smooth and stress-free travel experience.
For Dubai residents, this development means that friends and family can easily extend their stays for longer visits. This will lead to fostering closer relationships and enhancing connectivity. This update represents a positive step forward for both tourists and residents. Also, this will further solidify Dubai’s position as a welcoming and accessible destination for travellers worldwide.
