One thing that we enjoy the most during Delhi winters is street food; and old Delhi is known for it. But if you live in Gurgaon and have been travelling all the way to Chandni Chowk for it, you can stop it now. Sardar Jalebi, located in Sadar Bazaar of Old Gurgaon is your go-to place if you have been looking to dig into garam garam jalebis.
What’s More?
Sardar Jalebi is a 72-yr-old shop that is located in the narrow lanes of Sadar Bazaar, Gurgoan. The cluttered market space gives you Chandni Chowk-like feels, so will the food. There is no board or prominent landmark that will help you spot this tiny shop, but ask anyone, and they will guide you to it.
However, if you are a true jalebi fan, then the aroma of the freshly fried, crispy jalebis will make sure that you don’t miss the shop. The shop was set up Arjun Singh and is now run by grandson Gurdeep Singh, along with his uncle.

Old Is Gold
For those who have been regular at his shop, they swear by the crispiness and deliciousness of the jalebis served here. They maintain that the taste, flavour and consistency hasn’t changed at all over the years. We, as first timers, too, fell for the taste with the first bite itself. While you can get some packed and take it home, the charm of sitting on the wooden bench and eating fresh jalebis that have come out all piping hot, is something different altogether.
Sweetened just right, and not that oily too, the jalebis at Sardar Jalebi is priced at ₹180 per kg.
