On seeing his founder and chairman, Subrata Roy on a flight once, Ali approached him and told him he was acting in ads. To his surprise, Roy replied that he’d seen him. The late Sahara Group founder smacked his cheeks affectionately. Ali told him that he was having trouble getting leaves. Roy told Ali to get him a piece of paper. Aamir Ali gave him the first thing he could find: a sheet to cover a tray.

Subrata Roy wrote on that piece of paper that Aamir Ali must be granted leave even on a one-day notice. Moreover, the founder wrote that Ali be exempted from flying however many days he wanted. Roy signed it and gave it to the flight supervisor. The actor admitted that modelling became easier for him after that day. After all, a piece of paper signed by “Sahara Shri” was equivalent to a legal document.
