The entire nation is celebrating Raksha Bandhan today. Across the country, sisters are tying the ceremonial thread on their brother’s wrists signifying safety and siblinghood. One of the traditions practised on this day is the brother giving a special gift to his sister. The Noida Traffic Police has come up with a special way to celebrate this special festival. On Raksha Bandhan, they have announced that women drivers will not receive a challan!

Noida Traffic Police Celebrates Raksha Bandhan

According to an article which was recently published by India Today, the Noida Traffic Police is running a special campaign. The campaign is dedicated towards raising traffic awareness in women drivers.

As part of the campaign and the Raksha Bandhan celebrations, the Noida Traffic Police announced that they will not issue challans to women drivers today. This is a special Raksha Bandhan gift from them to the women of Noida.

In addition to no challans, the Noida Traffic Police will also distribute helmets to women to raise awareness about traffic and safety issues. These campaigns will be conducted at major intersections across the city.

Severe Trepasses Will Still Receive Strict Consequences

It is important to note that just because no challans will be issued to women today, it does not mean that serious trespasses will be overlooked. As per the article, serious traffic violations will not be overlooked and will be met with severe penalties.

This initiative highlights the Noida Traffic Police’s commitment to women’s safety on the road. Raksha Bandhan is one of the most auspicious festivals in India and the timely initiative serves as a testament to serve and protect people on the road.

The helmet distribution to women is especially significant as it is a reminder to be safe on the road and to always wear a helmet, no matter how short the distance you’re travelling or how much in a hurry you are.
