Nuts are nature’s superfood, packed with vitamins, proteins, and antioxidants–perfect for enhancing overall well-being. However, not all nuts offer the same benefits; each type affects different parts of the body. Recently, a Harvard and Stanford-trained gastroenterologist shared a video on his Instagram handle, explaining how each nut is beneficial for our body and what nutrients they contain.

Dr Saurabh Sethi often shares insightful health advice on Instagram, where he talks about warning signs we should not ignore, foods to eat daily, and what to avoid for our well-being. Recently, he took to his social media to share the list of nuts we can consume for overall well-being. With 50 over nuts worldwide, it’s easy to get confused. Addressing this, Dr Sethi revealed the eight best nuts for boosting your health: almonds, cashews, walnuts, hazelnuts, pecans, pistachios, peanuts, and pine nuts.

This Harvard and Stanford graduate has over 25 years of experience, and with his deep insight and research, he has also revealed how these eight nuts improve overall well-being. Here are some benefits of each nut –

1. Almonds

Packed with Vitamin E, almonds help in skin repair and protection, enhancing the everyday glow. You can soak them overnight and take them along with your breakfast or any other time of the day.

2. Pistachios

Rich in lutein and zeaxanthin, pistachios are important for eye health. It can help release stress and improve eyesight. So, don’t forget to add them to your regular diet for healthy eyesight. 

3. Walnuts

Supporting cognition, walnuts are high in plant-based omega-3s and are beneficial for the brain. Regularly eating walnuts can reduce everyday stress and improve your overall brain function.

4. Pecans

Pecans are loaded with plant sterols, which boost the condition of your prostate health. If you’re suffering from high PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) levels, then eating pecans can help you lower them.

5. Hazelnuts

Poor lifestyle and irregular diets can affect heart health, and to prevent this, you can add hazelnuts to your diet. They have monounsaturated fats and folate in them. 

6. Cashews

Boosting your immunity helps your body recover faster, and for this, you can consume some cashews daily. They are packed with zinc, copper and iron.

7. Pine nuts

To avoid future health problems like weight gain, diabetes, heart conditions, and more, controlling appetite is important. For appetite control, add pine nuts to your diet as they contain pinolenic acid, which results in reducing hunger hormones. 

8. Peanuts

Peanuts are a powerful source of nutrients that support heart and brain health. They contain resveratrol and niacin, which help prevent heart-related conditions such as poor cholesterol levels and enhance brain function, including memory improvement.
