Travellers always prefer direct flights, after all, who wants to wait at an additional airport for a stopover? So, if you are also someone who prefers flying directly, then you will want to know that soon you can fly directly between Mangaluru International Airport and Jeddah. Yes, starting from April 3, Mangaluru-Jeddah direct flights will be introduced by the Air India Express.

Air India Express To Start Direct Mangaluru-Jeddah Flights

Come April 3, and Air India Express will fly directly between Jeddah and Mangaluru once a week. This means, the flight connectivity of the Mangaluru International Airport will rise to eight international destinations with the addition of this city. For those who are wondering, in a report by The Hindu, it was revealed that the flight will be taking flights will be operating every Wednesday.

For this, 186-seat, Boeing 737-800 aircraft will be employed, which has an all-economy configuration. Not to mention, flight IX499 Mangaluru-Jeddah will leave the airport at 2:50 PM and reach Jeddah at 6:25 PM (local time). While the return flight IX498 will depart from Jeddah at 7:25 PM and reach Mangaluru at 3:40 AM on Thursday. As it happens, online booking has already opened for this new sector. It should be noted that the addition of this new destination takes the number of international flights from this airport to eight. This includes Muscat, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Dubai, Dammam, Doha, and Bahrain.

It’s worth mentioning that Air India Express currently operates two flights daily while Indigo operates four flights in a week to Dubai. With the addition of this flight, travelling between the two destinations is bound to be easier. In case you are wondering, there are many places to see in both the cities. Mangaluru has several beaches and colonial relics along with traditional temples that are worth visiting. While Jeddah has several malls, the corniche, and the waterfront harbour that every tourist must check out.
