Summer in Dubai is complete with fantastic activities that includes everything from cool workshops to fun-filled events. And now, there is an enriching cultural and educational programme that’s being organised this August by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library. Including lectures and seminars, which are suitable for visitors of all ages and interests, here’s all about the upcoming cultural event.

Mohammed Bin Rashid Library is hosting a reading evening that aims to encourage first-time published authors. As mentioned in a report by the Dubai Media Office, the evening is in line with the library’s effort to support new writers and writing. They will get to share their experiences and also celebrate their achievements! Not to mention, as the library celebrates World Caligraphy Day, there will be a discussion on ‘Arabic Calligraphy: Between Creativity and Innovation’. Moderated by Badr Alawadhi, this session will highlight the role of calligraphy as a tool for cultural communication.

However, a bunch of other activities will also be organised. This includes interactive workshops on the latest advancements in AI and even the basics and skills of robotic programming. Another workshop on the ‘Basics of Writing Official Letters in Arabic’ will also be included in the activities. The session will explore appropriate language and structures that will be perfect for crafting formal letters in Arabic and some of the best practices for communicating with official entities.

The library also aims to celebrate World Hausa Language Day through a discussion on ‘Hausa Language: History, Literature, and Linguistic Relations’. Finally, celebrating Emirati Women’s Day, a group of Emirati musical talents will be performing Emirati Traditional Music. Not just for adults, but children are also included in the activities. A special camp is happening from August 5 to 15. This will be a part of the cultural summer initiative, the camp will be perfect for participants from ages 7 to 12 years with a variety of sessions and workshops in both Arabic and English.
