KKR and Temasek-backed Rebel Foods have joined the hugely competitive food delivery space currently led by Zomato, Swiggy and Zepto. But what Rebel Foods has in mind to stay ahead of the curve is 15-minute food deliveries. As per a report by TOI, the Mumbai-based company believes that if consumers are given the convenience and advantage of quick deliveries, they would rather prefer 10-15 minute food deliveries. Rebel Foods has the advantage of running multiple cloud kitchen brands like Faasos Wrap, Behrouz Biryani, Oven Story, and The Good Bowl amongst many others. With its infrastructure in place, and a loyal fan following for its brands, Rebel Foods looks to launch a 10-15 minute food delivery service without incurring significant costs.

Sagar Kochhar, co-founder and CEO, EatSure, at Rebel Foods threw light on the upcoming business plan to TOI. Kochhar stated that when customers get hungry they crave food immediately. So, 15-minute food delivery, in his opinion, must happen. There is an underlying demand but it’s all about plugging that need gap. In his words, Kochhar stressed that this move didn’t come due to investor pressure or tough competition.

This Service Debuts In Mumbai On The EatSure App

He did emphasise that Rebel Foods does keep an eye on competition. However, the quick food delivery service is primarily backed by consumer insights. While light snacking meals will be the initial driver, customers will eventually shift to Rebel Foods for all meal occasions if the quality of food is good, said Sagar Kochhar to TOI.

It’s interesting to note that all of Rebel Foods’s brands are listed on Swiggy and Zomato apart from its own app EatSure. But to avail of the 15-minute food delivery service, customers must only use the EatSure app. The 15-minute food delivery service will kickstart in Mumbai from today. Moreover, QuickiES will roll out a new selection of cafe-style food like idlis, noodles and samosas which customers can get delivered in just 15 minutes in the upcoming weeks.

The service that starts in Mumbai will eventually expand to over 20 cities in India. The company’s strategy also includes not charging customers if it fails to execute its deliveries within the stipulated 15-minute window.
