What’s the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about Lucknow? Apart from royalty, we think about the city’s tempting kebabs. This historical city topped the list of India’s best street food cities with 90.3 per cent of experts recommending it as a favourite place for gastronomic experiences. Do not leave the Nawabi city without devouring a delightful spread of Galouti Kebabs from Tunday Kababi, Biryani from Idris Ki Biryani, and Raja Ki Thandai and Malai Gilori from Ram Asrey.
Amritsar is renowned for its lip-smacking Kulcha and Chole. This beautiful city has been featured on the 2024 Godrej Food Trends Report’s best street food cities in India list in the second position for local cuisine’s desi flavours. Also, the report recommended foodies savour Amritsari Kulchas stuffed with spiced potatoes and Chole from Kulcha Land, Gian Di Lassi, and langar at Golden Temple.
More Food, The Merrier!
From Phuchka to Jhalmuri to Roll, chances are you will find small stalls selling these lip-smacking street food in most corners of Kolkata. 86.4 per cent of experts revealed that the streets of this city “are a playground of unique flavours,” according to the press release. The ‘City of Joy’ secured the third rank on India’s best street food cities list released by Godrej Food Trends Report 2024. Some of the must-try local foods to try here are Jhalmuri, Phuchka, Kathi Rolls from Nizam’s, and Chhanar Jilipi.
The list of the best street food cities in India features Varanasi in the fourth position. Known for its rich heritage, culture, and traditional Ganga aarti, visitors also love exploring this holy city to indulge in a feast of local delicacies. There are just way too many dishes to gorge on. Godrej Food Trends Report 2024 suggested Malaiyo from Shreeji, Deena Ki Chaat, Apple Pie at Vatika, and garam garam Chai at Laxmi Tea Stall.
