Fully Vaccinated Air India Express Travellers Can Now Skip Quarantine Upon Arrival In Mumbai

The world is gearing up to vaccinate its citizens as soon as possible. The UAE is way ahead on the vaccine curve and has vaccinated almost half of its population. As a result, vaccinated UAE-ites can now travel to 19 countries and 30 cities quarantine-free. And now, in another breather to fully vaccinated passengers, Air India Express has announced an update. India’s leading budget carrier Air India Express announced on Twitter that fully vaccinated international passengers arriving in Mumbai now can skip institutional quarantine. Travellers Who Seek Quarantine Exemption Have To Produce Both The Vaccine Certificates

Air India Express took to Twitter on Friday and announced that international passengers could seek exemption from institutional quarantine if they have taken both doses of the covid-19 vaccine. The tweet posted by the airline further stated: “ All you need to do: Produce both the vaccine certificates and a self-declaration form.”

The form for the same can be filled from here. In terms of this rule, it applies to passengers whose landing destination is Mumbai. It means that the rule doesn’t come into place for transit passengers. Whereas other international passengers flying to Mumbai via other airlines still have to undertake a mandatory quarantine for 14 days- i.e seven days paid institutional quarantine at their own cost, followed by seven days isolation at home with self-monitoring of health.

The Travel Ban For UAE Will Remain In Place Till July 6

In terms of flights for UAE, for now, UAE’s carriers Emirates and Etihad have extended their ban on Indian travellers until July 6. India’s Air India Express also took to Twitter to announce the extension of the Ban till July 6. For now, only Golden and Silver Visa holders can travel to and from UAE.
