Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar is hosting the third G20 Tourism Working Group meeting at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre from 22 May to 24 May 2023. Just before the meeting could begin here, many residents started getting mobile calls about it. These automated calls asked them to step out on the roads and create a blockage for the Sheikh ul-Alam International Airport, Srinagar so that the G20 meeting cannot occur. These calls were from international numbers.

After receiving such automated calls, people started reporting these incidents. According to a report by LiveMint, the police of the union territory have already issued an advisory regarding such automated calls. The police have asked the people to not receive calls from such international numbers. It is better not to receive any calls from doubtful numbers.

The LiveMint report also states that the cyber wing is working on tracing the emergence of these international and automated calls. These calls are trying to roll out fake information, as shared by the Additional Director General of Police of the Jammu and Kashmir police.

Eminent delegates from different corners of the world arrived in Srinagar to attend the G20 meeting. It started on Monday with lots of security. According to a report by The Indian Express, a senior police officer stated about the arrangement of a multi-tier security state. Police officials, paramilitary forces, and intelligence agencies are working together to prevent any chances of mishap in Srinagar. Not just this, but marine commandos and NSG are also here to protect and safeguard the meeting. Everyone is deployed near the venue to protect the venue and nearby places.

In fact, there is security in many places in Jammu and Kashmir to prevent any issues. There are CCTV cameras and drones installed in all places. Officials are keeping an eye on all the footage. Along with these security arrangements, an advisory has been released that stops any transportation or movement on the road connecting with the meeting venue.
