J&K’s Gulmarg Is Ready To Host The Upcoming G20 Meet; Preparations Started!

This year is all about the G20 Summit. With several delegates from across the globe travelling to different locations, this programme focuses on crucial issues related to the global economy, architecture and governance. According to the reports, one of these meets will be taking place in Gulmarg, a popular tourist destination in Kashmir.

G20 Meet Will Take Place In Kashmir’s Gulmarg

The official Twitter handle of Deputy Commissioner Baramulla tweeted stating that Gulmarg is ready to welcome the delegates for an upcoming G20 meeting. They had posted a few images of the place that features newly set-up sign boards and renovation of the Narbal-Gulmarg road stretch. To improve the visual value of the existing structures, footpaths and medians are being created. In addition to this, traffic roadways are being furnished and hoardings are being constructed.

According to reports, Syed Sehrish Asgar, DC Baramulla, stated that all preparations are in the final stage. She urged the agencies to work hard to implement a second shift in all of the ongoing projects in a timely way. For the early completion of development initiatives in Baramulla, Sehrish underlined the need for increased collaboration and synergy among line departments.

In order to make the establishments more enticing and to improve aesthetics, she also gave instructions to the relevant authorities to cut the grass along the roads, routes, and footpaths. Additionally, they are covering manholes with lids, paint iron grills, making water fountains functional, and ensuring smooth street lighting operation.

Major Makeover For The Meeting

The Baramulla district government was adding the finishing touches to all of the preparations. Additionally, the area was getting a complete makeover in the midst of a strict security strategy for the high-profile event. The event would impact the Baramulla district. There would be no limits anywhere while markets, schools, and institutions would be open.

Gulmarg is a popular hill station located in Jammu & Kashmir’s Baramulla district. Moreover, it is a famous tourist destination known for skiing. Also, the town is located within the Gulmarg Wildlife Sanctuary’s limits in the Western Himalayas’ Pir Panjal Range.
