Delhi is all set to host the 18th G20 Summit on September 9 and 10. With set-ups at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport to now issue traffic advisories, the capital is gearing up for this event. The Delhi Traffic Police has established a special “virtual helpdesk” in an effort to ensure that residents of Delhi may travel around the national capital without experiencing any difficulties during the next G20 Summit.

There will be severe travel restrictions in various areas of the national capital on September 9 and 10 during the Summit. To help residents navigate the city effectively and minimize any delays, the police helpdesk website offers traffic information, road closures, alternate routes, and travel warnings.

In the New Delhi district, where only residents and those employed in critical services will be permitted access after producing identification proof, the traffic restrictions associated with the G20 Summit will be very tight.
On the website, there is a special section titled “Transportation Services” that takes you to another page where you can discover all the information on the several forms of transportation you can use to go to Pagati Maidan, the location of the G20 Summit.

Plan Your Routes Well In Advance
Commuters can use the Metro, a bus, or a cab to go from IGI Airport to Pragati Maidan according to the routes and directions mapped out in this document. It also includes information on how to get from the Delhi airport to the chosen hotels as well as how to go from the hotels to Pragati Maidan.
There will be certain traffic restrictions in force in and around New Delhi from September 7 to September 11. According to the Delhi Traffic Police, the flow of traffic will not be impacted outside of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) area, with the exception of the National Highway 48 (NH-48).
Planning ahead and adhering to the traffic police’s recommended routes are encouraged for those wishing to go through the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport or the New Delhi Railway Station at this time. In addition, the police have urged people to take the Delhi Metro, which would continue to operate normally but for the closing of a few station gates. (As per the New Indian Express and Times Now)
