We see more and more devotees choosing eco-friendly Ganesh idols every year. To celebrate the festivities without harming nature and saving the planet, people are switching to worshipping biodegradable idols. Ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi, PMC announced the introduction of the ‘Our Idol, Your Price’ initiative in Pune. The important announcement’s key goal is to take a major step in promoting eco-friendly celebrations during Ganeshotsav.

To make this plan a reality and motivate Punekars to choose biodegradable options, the Environment Department of PMC joined hands with Liberty Earthware Art. The partnership brings clay idols for citizens. Made with Shadu clay in the Bhakti Sangam style, buyers can purchase eco-friendly idols at their preferred prices. Apart from being an affordable purchase, taking these Ganpati idols home will be a crucial step to protecting the earth by making an environment-friendly decision.

According to a report by Pune Times Mirror, these Ganpati idols prepared using biodegradable materials take around two hours to dissolve completely. After immersion, devotees can repurpose the water to add to their plants, flower tubs, and gardens.
