UK Family’s ₹3 Lakhs Egypt Holiday Turned Into Nightmare Amid Construction Chaos & Food Poisoning

Recently, a family vacation to Egypt was turned into a nightmare for 36-year-old Scott Edward, who planned a sunny holiday with his wife Katie and their children, Freddy and Alexandra. But what exactly happened? Read on to know.

UK Family Suffers Food Poisoning On Egypt Trip

As per a report by NDTV, the family’s dream trip went into a nightmare after they got there to find their hotel still under construction. What was originally meant to be a peaceful vacation soon became a traumatic experience, with the family apparently dealing with food poisoning and even an electric shock during their stay. Scott Edward told NeedToKnow that no one enjoyed the vacation, and it created huge stress for them and also created financial issues. He also revealed that having to pay back the extra costs on the credit cards, they all fell ill and suffered from food poisoning. On January 16, the family arrived at their Hurghada resort in Egypt after an exhausting 18-hour journey, only to find a dirty hotel room with no Wi-Fi. They switched rooms immediately, but it didn’t get better.

He further claimed that the rooms were dirty and broken, with faeces and urine all around a toilet that hadn’t been cleaned. The food caused everyone to become violently sick, and they were not able to eat at any of the restaurants. He had sore kidneys for two weeks after the holiday because of dehydration from the sickness.

What All Did The Family Experience?

Additionally, Edward also claimed he received an electric shock from a live wire while visiting the kids’ club with his children, adding that construction waste was scattered all around the hotel and unsafe areas were openly and easily accessible without proper safety measures.

The family also defined the trip as traumatic and asked for a full refund for the vacation, which reportedly cost over ₹3,82,020. After first being offered only around ₹13,398, the booking company Loveholidays later agreed to refund the full cost of the trip, including flights and transfers. The travel agency also stated that if the family had contacted them during the trip, they could have assisted, but they claimed Edward only reached out nearly two months later.
